Mission San Jose
Founded on June 11, 1979 by Father Fermin Francisco de Lasuen, Mission San Jose was a self-sustaining village occupied by local natives, soldiers, artisans with families and priests. After an earthquake hit in 1868, it wasn’t until 1982 that reconstruction began. Soon after, the museum building was constructed. Many people visit the mission looking for information about their relatives, such as baptism or burial records.

The Alamo
The Alamo Mission de in San Antonio, commonly called the Alamo, is a former Roman-Catholic mission and fortress compound and is the site of the Battle of the Alamo, which took place in 1836. The Alamo itself in considered hallowed ground and the Shrine of Texas Liberty due to the battle that took place here. Today, it is now a museum with free admission located in the downtown historic district of San Antonio.

El Mercado
Rich in culture of San Antonio, the Market Square is a three-block outdoor plaza lined with over a 100 restaurants, shops and produce stands. Market Square is also a place where performers and entertainers perform during festivals. El Mercado is the largest Mexican market in the United States and the foods and goods sold in the market primarily reflects Mexican culture.

Fredericksburg
Founded in 1846, Fredericksburg was named after Prince Frederick of Prussia. The town where German settlers had inhabited is also known as the home of Texas German, and was nicknamed Fritztown. Fredericksburg and neighboring town Stonewall became known as the Peach Capital of Texas. Today, because of the elevation, sandy soil and climate, growers have been able to produce peaches, herbs, grapes and a variety of flowers.

National Museum of the Pacific War
Built in the hometown of legendary WWII Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, the National Museum of the Pacific War chronicles the heroic and horrific Pacific theater of WWII, with immersive “living history” exhibits.
